Construction Update

January 4, 2024: The project was designed by LKV Architects and is managed by Beniton Construction. Structural masonry walls are approximately 80% complete. Stair core and elevator shaft is being constructed. Slab on grade concrete is 100% done. Second floor structural framing and decking is scheduled for later this month. Construction will be completed in August 2024.

Project Information

Built in 1912, Collister is overcrowded and outdated. With multiple portable classrooms and one of the District’s smallest combined cafeteria-gym-auditorium, Collister ranked in the bottom third on all three major 2016 Facilities Audit categories (Utilization, Educational Adequacy and the Facilities Condition Index).

A completely remodeled and expanded school will help meet modern education standards while preserving an historic neighborhood school.
